About Me

HI! I'm Sydney.

I am a junior at Indiana University where I study journalism and apparel merchandising.
I started Simply Syd to document my personal style mixed with some of the wonderful moments of my simple, but wonderful life.

Some random facts about me:
I'm a compulsive online shopper. I like all my jewelry gold. I have a thing for floral patterns and nude shoes. I could talk all day about my love and obsession for Harry Styles. Take me to see a scary movie and we'll be the best of friends. I've never read a book I love more than The Fault In Our Stars. I hate working out, but I love eating junk! I'm a firm believer that retail therapy can fix just about anything. My parents are my best friends. IU basketball and blueberry iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts are my weaknesses. I'm an adrenaline junkie. I've never seen or read any of the Harry Potter trilogy (I KNOW I HAVEN'T LIVED).

Why did I start blogging?
Since I started college I've been contributing to other fashion and lifestyle websites, and I eventually decided it's time to begin my own. Studying the retail industry, I have a huge love for fashion. I knew I wanted my blog to be about all things Syd, but my daily style being the biggest part. I want to show my readers it's absolutely possible to ball on a budget. Being a college student, spending big money on clothes isn't in the cards, but with a little compromising you can look good and feel good without spending those boo koo bucks.

What's my style?
I've always had a really laid back look. I love being comfortable and would choose a pair of converse over a pair of platform pumps any day. I like neutral colors with the occasional pop of color. I would live in floral sundresses all year if the Indiana weather allowed me to.

My advice?
I believe that everyones style reflects their personality. My advice is to never try to copy someone else's style, use others as inspiration, but make things your own. If there is a trend you absolutely hate, don't follow it. Wear what you love and what you feel good in!
