DRESS SHORTS

Top: Urban Outfitters | Shorts: Kohls | Shoes: Target | Watch: Michael Kors | Sunnies: Burberry

As most of you have probably seen from my posts so far, when I wear shorts they're typically loose-fitting with a flow to them. I have always been self conscious about shorts being too short or riding up my thighs, so this is the perfect length and fit for my taste! I wore these shorts a lot during my internship this summer. They were excellent for a casual day in the office as well as summer weather appropriate. The beautiful thing about these shorts is that they look good on just about anybody on any occasion. Add a cute top with a collar and a good heel or wedge and you're set!
Today marks the first day of my junior year at IU! I can hardly believe I am considered an upper clansmen, but it's all very exciting. I look forward to sharing some of my favorite fall looks as well as my advice on how to style them.

SYD DOES CASUAL

Hat: Profound Aesthetic | T-Shirt: Urban Outfitters (similar)| Shorts: Urban Outfitters | Shoes: Vans

These last few days have been absolutely insane with moving into my new apartment and getting adjusted, but I wanted to post something short and sweet to show a little different side of my wardrobe. I can be the biggest girly girl in the world, but I always feel most comfortable in my loose T's, denim shorts and Vans. I also love the floral snap back hats. Most places advertise them with just boys, but I think ladies can pull them off just as well, if not better! I got this at the beginning of the summer and I feel very Cara Delevingne in it. What do you think?
BY THE WAY- I'm represent the Midwest (Holla!) in a Hunter Boot campaign through College Fashionista. Can't wait to give you guys a sneak peak of the shoot and the awesome new boots I'll be showing off!

RED HOT

Dress: Nordstrom | Shoes: Francesca's (similar) | Necklace: Francesca's (similar) | Earrings: Francesca's

I'm finding it hard to believe it's already time for me to pack up my silver SUV and head back to Bloomington to begin my junior year of COLLEGE. Time is going by way too fast, I wish it'd slow down just a tad. I came home the last couple weeks of summer after my internship ended to spend some quality time with my two best friends (my parents). We have had the best time together, as always, so it was only right to spend our last night together in the city for a yummy dinner! (I couldn't wait to have excuse to wear this gorgeous dress, isn't it fabulous?!) I love my life in B-town, but leaving mom and pops never gets any easier no matter how old I get. I appreciate and cherish the moments we get to spend fun evenings out together like this.

P.S.
My posts for College Fashionista start this Monday, and will continue throughout the school year. Be sure to check out my Style Advice Of The Week posts every Monday along with my weekly blog posts! So much fashion, so little time.

FLORAL AND LC

Top: LC Lauren Conrad (similar) | Jeans: American Eagle (similar) | Shoes: Francesca's (similar) | Bralette: Aerie | Watch: Michael Kors

There are two things in this world that I adore as much as Harry Styles and that's floral pattern and Lauren Conrad. I couldn't tell you how excited I was when she came out with her line at Kohls. I have fan girl'ed over LC since Laguna days. I think she has a style very similar to mine, which is why I couldn't resist buying this floral chiffon top. Not only do I love the pattern, but I love the color combination. Whenever I do decide to intermix color into my wardrobe, it usually consists of coral and teal. The material is very sheer, so I wore a skin colored bralette with it. For anyone with a tastefully simple style like myself, be sure to check out Lauren's collection here!

FLORAL AND CHUCKS

Dress: Urban Outfitters | Shoes: Converse | Bracelet: Francesca's (similar)

I've mentioned before how I would rather wear a pair of Converse over a pair of wedges or pumps any day.. and here I am(even in a dress)! I was a little skeptical at first about picking my Chuck's over something with some height. I'm only 5'3 and I didn't want to make my legs look any shorter than they already are. I think it turned out great though, definitely more me.
Floral prints of all form have a special place in my heart, so I knew I had to have this dress when I saw it. It also brought me back to the kind of dresses I used to wear when I was a little diva, only now in a more grown up form. I also loved this dress because of the fit. The tightness hits at just the right spot and flows out perfectly. It does a good job hiding your tummy, which is why I think it would be flattering on any shape or size.

NIGHT OUT

Top: Banana Republic | Jeans: Urban Outfitters | Pumps: Madden Girl | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Banana Republic

I have literally been so busy these last couple of days getting ready to move into my new town house in Bloomington! I am in absolute disbelief that I am entering my junior year of college here in just a few weeks. It's been a good summer, but I am ready to be back in my favorite college town.
Along with being on the constant move, the weather has been miserable. No sun, lots of rain and the type of humidity that makes it hard to breathe. (Which is why I've been slacking on my posts)
So, I did the best I could considering the awful weather conditions. I wore this outfit before a rooftop dinner in Cincinnati with some of my best friends. I just got this bright red crochet top and I couldn't wait to wear it! It has a good fitted feel and I loved the gold zipper back. It was definitely the perfect attire for a chill night in the city.

JUMP ON IT

Jumpsuit: Loft | Shoes: Target | Sunnies: Burberry (old) | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Banana Republic

The sun and wind decided to play a roll in certain pictures which was somewhat annoying at first, but hey you gotta work with what you got! I went shopping earlier this week, so I decided to wear one of my newest purchases for this post. I've got to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the whole romper/jumpsuit trend, but I just loved this! I'm a measly 5'3, so it can sometimes be hard to find one piece outfits that don't completely drag the ground for me, but this was perfect with just a little bit of a heel. I added my favorite gold jewelry, my sunnies and a pop of red lipstick and I was out the door.
